Kincaid Announces 2028 Run for Congress in Washington’s 9th District

I am running for Congress in Washington's 9th District in 2028. This year I ran in the 1st District. I did not make the top two. Thank you to everyone who voted for me. I am still working through the results. They were not what I expected.

So what happened?

Local news barely covered the 1st District race before the primary. Other races got real reporting. The 3rd District got a lot of it. Voters there had information to work with. Voters in the 1st District did not. The Seattle Times endorsed Suzan DelBene. An endorsement is not reporting. The Everett Daily Herald did the kind of reporting voters need. It provided the voters information on all the candidates in the election. The kind of information voters needed to make an informed decision. Unfortunately not everyone in the 1st District reads the Herald. Light coverage helps incumbents. Suzan DelBene has held this seat since 2012. The lack of real reporting before the primary kept her there. The lack of real reporting before the primary is also how the antisemite and conspiracy theory nut job Mary Silva advances to the general election in November. Voters did not know. The local news outlets failed the people of district 1. And they have been failing the people of district 1 for many years. Me calling Mary Silva a antisemite and conspiracy nut job . It’s not just me calling a political opponent names. I consider those to be facts. After reading the real reporting that the Herald did. Why the 9th District

The homeless crisis has been one of my top issues from the start. The Eastgate area of Bellevue and the Chinatown neighborhood have been hit hard by it. I talked about Eastgate and Chinatown throughout my campaign in the 1st District. I talked about Seattle's years of failure in Chinatown. I promised to ask for a federal investigation into the treatment of Chinatown if I won. I stand by every word of it.

Both of these communities are in the 9th District. The people of the 9th District have always been in my heart. Running there in 2028 is the right choice. Also Adam has said that his vote for the Massie amendment was the result of threats and violence by protesters. The fact that he can be influenced in that way. That alone makes him unfit for office. And just like Suzan DelBene. Adam Smith voted against the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025. Men should not be in women's sports or women's prisons. Adam Smith has been in office for 30 years. That is the main problem with the government. Too many career politicians . People that get into office and stay there for life. That is why nothing changes nothing gets better. That is why people are still waiting for the world to change. If elected to office I will commit to not serving long than 6 years.

Remember Representative Kay Granger from Texas. She stopped voting in the House after July 24, 2024 and essentially vanished from public view for about six months. In December 2024. A local outlet (The Dallas Express) tracked her down and found she was living at Tradition-Clearfork. A senior living facility in Fort Worth that includes assisted living and memory care. Her office had reportedly gone dark , phones unanswered, the district office vacant. They tried to keep her condition from the public for as long as possible. Kay Granger was not running things, she was not making decisions. Her staff was.

It’s obvious that the protests at his office and home. Have become too much for him to handle. And he has admitted it has influenced his votes. My advice to Adam Smith is that he should retire. He should spend more time with his family and enjoy life. After 30 years it is time. He should not stay in office until his health fades like so many in Congress do. That would be best for him and his family. It would also be best for the people of district 9.
