A Real Discussion on Immigration This nation has never had a real conversation on immigration . One that asks how we got here? Why tensions are rising? And what kind of society we want to build. Instead we get sound bites and photo ops. Politicians from both parties offer slogans  not solutions. They tell us these are jobs Americans won't do and that we need immigrants to keep prices low. And undocumented workers make up a significant share of the construction workforce as well. This is not a system built on fairness it is a system built on exploitation.
