Kincaid: WA-01 Democrats Deserve a Common Sense Choice Focused on Results
WASHINGTON'S 1ST CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT Congressional candidate Kincaid today noted that the 2026 race in Washington's 1st Congressional District is shaping up to feature multiple Democratic challengers to Representative Suzan DelBene, including Hunter Gordon.
Kincaid said the emerging field presents voters with a stark and consequential choice. Establishment politics, ideological politics, or a practical, solutions-first Democrat focused on delivering real results.
"WA-01 is a district of engineers, small-business owners, working families, and problem solvers. People here want progress but they also want it to be practical, achievable, and grounded in reality, not in slogans or ideological purity tests." — Kincaid
On Hunter Gordon's Platform
Kincaid pointed to Gordon's stated platform positions as examples of an approach that does not reflect the values of most Democrats in the district or most Americans.
"According to his campaign website, Mr. Gordon promotes ideas like 'making billionaires illegal' through extreme taxation and takes a hardline posture on foreign policy that includes cutting off aid to Israel," Kincaid said. "His website states that Israel is 'carrying out a perpetual genocide of Palestinians.' That kind of rhetoric is not only factually wrong it is dangerous. It would be a serious setback for America, and especially for Jewish Americans, if someone with those views were elected to Congress."
"Voters can read his platform and decide for themselves. My focus is entirely different. Results that can actually pass, policies that improve lives, and leadership that strengthens our community. Hunter Gordon is a socialist in effect, a Zohran Mamdani wannabe. Washington's 1st District is not New York City, not Seattle's far left, and certainly not Venezuela. And it never will be. His own website makes clear that he promotes both socialism and antisemitism. Voters deserve to know that."
What This Race Is Really About
Kincaid emphasized that his campaign is built for the common sense Democratic majority of this district voters who want strong public services, fair economic policy, and accountable leadership without ideological extremism.
"I am running to be the moderate, common sense Democrat in this race. That means lowering costs, improving public safety, supporting real healthcare affordability, protecting women's sports and women only spaces with clear and respectful standards, and bringing people together to actually get things done." — Kincaid
Update — April 17, 2026
Hunter Gordon has since received an endorsement from Track AIPAC, a group that monitors and opposes pro Israel political giving. Voters in Washington's 1st District should be clear eyed about what that means and what kind of campaign is coming.
Expect antisemitic rhetoric to make its way into this race. Expect socialist talking points that have been recycled and repackaged for a district where they have never found real support. Expect door knocking and campaign outreach built around anti Israel messaging and slogans that have nothing to do with the real challenges facing the working families of WA-01.
Gordon's campaign website is a collection of socialist slogans, anti Israel rhetoric, and policy proposals that would never survive a committee vote in Congress, let alone pass into law. This district deserves better than a candidate whose platform is defined by ideology rather than results, and by division rather than solutions.
The people of Washington's 1st District are practical, thoughtful, and serious. They deserve a representative who is the same.
