If I decide to officially run for office. I will be seeking endorsements from various organizations. One of them will be the King County Democrats . The first thing you have to do to seek an endorsement from them. Is to file out a questionnaire. Below are the questions from the 2026 questionnaire and my answers.
1) Please describe your background (education, employment, community and civic activity, union affiliation and political activity).
I’m a lifelong Democrat who is stepping forward because I believe our district and our party needs a stronger, more accountable, more solutions oriented kind of leadership right now. My civic engagement has been grounded in paying close attention to the lived reality of people across our region. The cost of living crisis, public safety concerns, the erosion of trust in institutions, and the feeling many families have that politics is no longer delivering results.
Politically, I have been clear that I am running as a practical moderate Democrat focused on affordability, public safety, real healthcare solutions, and protecting women’s sports and sex-based privacy with clear and respectful standards.
2) Why are you running for this position and what differentiates you as a candidate?
I’m running because Washington’s 1st District deserves a representative who is independent, fearless about telling the truth, and relentlessly focused on outcomes not slogans. Too many voters feel boxed into a choice between establishment politics and ideological politics. I’m offering something different. A solutions first Democrat focused on measurable results and restoring public trust.
What differentiates me is that I’m willing to tackle issues many Democrats avoid like the failures of our homelessness response, the reality of repeat offenders and public safety, and the need for clear standards that protect women’s sports and sex-based privacy while still fighting for core Democratic values like fairness, dignity, and opportunity.
3) If Democrats are successful in retaking the House in November, what actions will you support to retake the power and authority inherent in Congress being a coequal branch of government?
Democrats must treat congressional power as a constitutional responsibility not a partisan tool. If we retake the House, I will support:
• Aggressive oversight grounded in facts and transparency, including enforcing lawful subpoenas and ending the culture of “optional” compliance.
• Reasserting Congress’s power of the purse, including tighter guardrails on executive reprogramming of funds and clearer reporting requirements.
• Restoring war powers accountability, so major military actions require meaningful congressional authorization.
• Ethics and anti-corruption reforms, because public trust collapses when voters believe money and influence matter more than the public interest.
My broader aim is to restore “government that works” where Congress does its job, confronts hard problems, and produces durable solutions.
4) The Trump administration often ignores due process and long standing civil rights norms. What immigration policy and goals will you advocate for?
I will advocate for an immigration system that is fair, secure, and functional. That does not depend on exploitation. Our country has tolerated an economy that relies on millions of undocumented workers living in the shadows, particularly in agriculture and construction. That is not humane, it is not sustainable, and it is not consistent with the rule of law.
My goals are:
• Protect due process and civil rights for all persons under U.S. jurisdiction because that’s who we are as a country.
• Build a legal, transparent worker pipeline that matches labor supply with real economic needs and includes strong worker protections so we stop incentivizing undocumented exploitation.
• Invest in automation and innovation in sectors that have become structurally dependent on underpaid labor, so we modernize our economy instead of repeating the same cycle.
• Spend resources intelligently, focusing on fixing the system rather than performative enforcement that doesn’t change underlying incentives.
5) Republicans are taking extraordinary action to limit voting. In addition to passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, what actions will you take to protect and restore the integrity of individual voting rights?
I will support a comprehensive pro-democracy agenda, including:
• National standards that expand access: automatic voter registration where appropriate, same day registration options, and protections for early voting and vote by mail.
• Election administration funding so counties can run secure, modern elections with paper trails, audited results, and strong cybersecurity.
• Stronger protections against intimidation and harassment of voters and election workers.
• Cracking down on disinformation especially AI driven disinformation. While protecting First Amendment rights through transparency rules, provenance, and clear labeling for synthetic political media.
